Spotting Wildlife on a Kakadu Safari

Lizard caught by our Kakadu Safari guide
It has been a while since we went on a Kakadu Safari, but still remember it as an unforgettable experience.
Back in 1996 we had our first long holiday together to Australia. As luxurious backpackers we had a rental car to visit the east coast, but we also flew into Darwin to visit Kakadu National Park.
At the hostel where we were staying there were several tours to Kakadu on offer. We chose a Kakadu Safari and never regretted it. Our guide Dave often ran from the jeep to catch some kind of lizard or snake to show it to us. Fascinating!! And of course there were the hikes in a great landscape, and the swimming under waterfalls too. But it was the wildlife that gave the extra thrill.
I guess we were just lucky with our guide, but we can only advise to ask what your guide is like upfront. A good one will certainly add to your experience.
