Farm work in Victoria on a tourist visa?

Thinking of dropping by Australia before New Zealand. My mate said there is fruit picking in Victoria in January. However I'll be on a tourist visa. Will this be a problem?

Tourist visa is for tourists, work visa is for work

Hi Rob,

As the page about the Australia tourist visa says:

Does A Visitor Visa Allow Me To Work?
No. If you want to work in Australia you need to apply for an Australia Work Visa.

To work in Australia without a work visa carries the same risks as everywhere else in the world: if you get caught you get deported and barred from re-entry.
