We rode motorcycles to 'The Rock' about 35 years ago and pitched our tents at the base of the rock. This was back when the campground was literally in the scrub at the rock's base.
Climbing the rock is what it is all about, I spent hours exploring the bushy mini ravines and rock pools with their dried up water creatures. Going there and not climbing it would be like the old adage of showering in a raincoat.
I am going again in October and intend climbing it again. If I offend someone I apologise, we are made to feel guilty for 'offending' people way too often these days.
The 'Olgas' are far more impressive than 'Ayers Rock'.
